Islamabad:  A meeting of Policy Board of Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority NAPHDA was held today in Islamabad. The meeting chaired by Chairman NAPHDA was attended by officials from Cabinet Division, Finance Division, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiative, Ministry of Housing and Works and members from private sector among others.

A number of key matters relating to the implementation of low cost housing and construction were placed before the Policy Board for discussion and approval. Discussion, decisions and updates, were focused on various matters related to the current status, progress, strategy and way forward on the development of low cost housing sector.

• Agenda items that came under discussion included:

  1. i.

     MoUs signed with HBL and Askari Bank for providing consultancy services free of cost.

  2. ii.

     MoU with Pak China Development, Private Limited for cooperation in development of low cost housing.

  3. iii.

     Proposed agreement with the Government of Turkey relating to exchange of expertise in housing sector.

  4. iv.

     MoUs with Workers Welfare Fund for provision of low cost housing and MoUs with LDA and KPK Government for construction of apartments.

Special incentive package for housing and construction sector including markup subsidy, cost subsidy and also NAPHDA Public Private Partnership regulations were tabled.
