Islamabad:  National Coordination Committee on Housing Construction and Development held its 113th meeting in Islamabad today.
The meeting was convened by Deputy Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA), Major General Amer Aslam Khan, HI(M), T. Bt (Retd) and attended by officials from the Ministries of Housing and Works, Planning, Development & Special Initiative, Finance, Law and Justice, FBR, CDA and Chief Secretary’s offices Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan.

The Committee reviewed the progress on different housing and construction related initiatives in all the provinces. Matters relating to project approval regime, master plan, and land/construction matters came under discussion.

Current status of master planning of major cities and progress on operationalization of One Window Digital Portal along with back-end automation and automated tracking system was deliberated. It was informed by CDA that One Window Digital portal will start functioning from 15th November and back-end automation is in the process.

Progress on project approvals/provision of data on housing units built, under construction housing units in the respective provinces by individuals/private sector/builders, government entities and development authorities including Cantonment Boards was also reviewed. In Sindh, master plans of 17 major cities including 16 DHQ Towns have been completed. In Balochistan, master plans of 34 cities are in progress.

National Coordination Committee on Housing, Construction and Development has been constituted by Prime Minister Imran Khan to coordinate and facilitate the government's policy to promote construction and development related activities, especially affordable housing projects for the low-income segment of the society, as envisaged in the Naya Pakistan Housing Program.
