Islamabad:  The sixth meeting of the (NAPHDA) Policy Board was held today in Islamabad. Chairman NAPHDA Lt. General Anwar Ali Hyder, HI(M) (Retd), was attended by officials from Cabinet Division, Finance Division, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiative, Ministry of Housing and Works, and members from the private sector, amongst others.

​A number of key matters relating to the implementation of low-cost housing and construction were placed before the Policy Board for discussion and approval. Updates, discussions, and decisions were focused on the current status, progress, strategy, and way forward in the development of the low-cost housing sector.

​Agenda items that came under discussion included updates on major activities since the last (5th) meeting. The Board was informed that around 160,690 low-cost housing units are under construction all over the country by the Federal / Provincial Government Housing Authorities including Punjab Peri-Urban Housing Scheme, Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar (MPMG) Scheme, Akhuwat and Private Sector. An update on NAPHDA Mortgage Regulations, 2021 and NAPHDA Adjudication Regulations, 2021was also given. Amendment in NAPHDA Public Private Partnership (PPP) Regulations, 2020 and revised budget approval for CFY 2021-2022, and budget estimates for FY 2022-2023 were tabled before the policy board.
