Hafiz Mian Numan, former Member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) and Convenor of the Working Group on Access to Finance for the Development of the Housing Sector in Pakistan chaired a meeting of the Working Group on January 21, 2025 at the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) Head Office in Islamabad. The Working Group was established by the Ministry of Housing and Works (MoH&W) on the directive of the Prime Minister's Task Force to chalk out a growth framework and enhance access to financing for the housing sector. The meeting was attended by the members of the group including Acting Chairman NAPHDA, Major General Amer Aslam Khan HI (M), T. Bt (Retd); Mr. Zeeshan Rehman Khattak, Commissioner SECP; Ms. Khalida Habib, Executive Director SECP; Ms. Amina Aziz, Director SECP; Mr. Waseem Hayyat Bajwa, Deputy Director General Planning Wing (MoH&W); Mr. Hassan Bakhshi, Chairman ABAD; Mr. S.M. Nabeel, Chairman ABAD North; Dr. Asad Jalal, Housing Finance Specialist; Mr. Ahsan Malik, Senior Real Estate Analyst; Sardar Tahir Mehmood, President Realtors; Mr. Faisal Shafaat, representative of the State Bank of Pakistan; Dr. Asghar Naeem Ullah, Chief Planner FGEHA; Dr. Shahzad Akram from Akhuwat; and others. Discussion focused on exploring financing options to support the development of the housing sector in Pakistan.
